to change debian 6 language

you need to follow this tutorial

i want english langauge to be my default language
do this command

root@debian: ~# apt-get install nano
root@debian: ~# nano /etc/locale.gen

search about
# en_US.UTF8 UTF-8
if you want use the english language remove # <--- remove this
like this
en_US.UTF8 UTF-8

after this exit nano ctrl+x
and press
Y
and save format
ctrl+m

after that
do this command
root@debian: ~# dpkg-reconfigure locales

and select the default language
en_US.UTF8 UTF-8

then ok

and reboot your pc

root@debian: ~# reboot

the default language will be english langauge
